Ever popular Wilbur 34’ Weekender Sportfish!!

Large v-berth forward with ample access to rope locker and stowage underneath. The lower settee dinette to port has a collapsing teak table and also makes for a narrow berth. To starboard is the Jabsco model 37010 electric flush head with integrated shower and vanity with hot and cold water. The galley is located on the starboard side across from the lower settee. The main salon has a settee to port with seating capacity for four adults and converts to upper and lower single berths. You’ll find the lower helm to starboard. Short bench seat at the helm.

Features a stainless Kenyon Marine combination alcohol/electric stove. A large stainless steel sink hot and cold water faucet. Below countertop is a Norcold refrigerator and ample stowage of food stores. Fluorescent lighting and large portal provides ample lighting. There is a custom teak crockery holder mounted to the bulkhead.

Navigation Electronics
Robertson AP2500 autopilot in combination with compass and rudder feedback unit. Furuno provides the 24-mile radar along with Furuno FCV 585 Fishfinder in pilot house and Furuno FCV 620 on bridge both new 2007. Navigational computer display of MapTech Offshore Navigator 3D driven by Garmin GPS WAAS unit was also new in 2007. A Multiplexer links Nav and fishfinder data for ease of operation. VHF communications are by Standard Horizon and Icom radios.

There is a 12 and 110-volt systems controlled by the custom Wilbur Yachts electric distribution panel with multiple circuit breakers. Power stowage is handled by three Caterpillar 8D batteries with battery combiner. Power generation by Leese Nevile 140 amp alternator when underway connects up with two Xantrex inverties 1500Watts and 1000Watt feeding a separate 110Volt distribution system. At the dock 110Volt shorepower powers several outlets and a 20-amp charger. A Tasco marine water heater provides ample hot water.

Deck and Hull Equipment
Awlgrip dark blue hull with gold cove striping above and a white boot stripe with a red accent stripe below. Decks, cabin and bridge are white. Low maintenance PVC toerails with stainless accent are found at the gunnels. There is a custom bow pulpit and railing running to ample hand holds on the main cabin. The bow thruster is controlled from the bridge and lower helm stations. Featured in the cockpit is an electric line handling windlass useful in multi-anchor precision positioning. Anchoring is a breeze with this Lewmar V1 bow windlass (new in 2007) controllable from the helm, bridge or bow along with a 35lb plow anchor and 300’ braided rode with chain (new 2007). Forward windows have windshield wipers. Electric horn for underway in limited visibility. There is a custom made rod holder on cabin roof, with fourteen flush mounted Lee rod holders around the cockpit in this Downeaster. A 4’ x 2’, live-well mounted permanently in stern (3/4" bronze Teel pump) and in combination with an insulated live/fish well 3’ x 5’ below deck for memory making fishing trips. Two custom built removable sailfish chairs are in the cockpit. Outdoor shower and clean-up are made easy with hot and cold freshwater in the cockpit. A 1’ sea water washdown hose supplied by a Rule pump is also in the cockpit.
The hull bottom has been barrier coated and has Awlgrip anti-fouling paint with an off-color indicator coat. Hull has been repainted spring of 2000 with Awlgrip. Custom teak swim platform (new 2004). The Bimini top and canvas flybridge cover protect from too much sun.

Engine Room
Rubber mounted Caterpillar 3126TA 420-hp with block heater and troll valve has 3800 hours (900 hours since rebuild) featuring extra sound-proofing engine insulation. Cruise speed 17.1 knots, top speed 20.6 knots. The muffler is custom designed with a stainless steel riser new in 2005 by Marine Manifold Corp. Marine Gear Twin Disc model #MG 507-1. The stainless steel drive shaft has a dripless stuffing box that turns a Hytorq 24 x 24 x 1 3/4" left hand five-blade propeller. Racor fuel filter system and debugger supply clean fuel with a selectable tank gauge indicating levels. Aluminum fuel tanks and all fuel piping were installed new in 2004 with engine room bilges receiving a new coat of paint. Vain oil changing pump permanently mounted for maintenance ease.

Down East hull designs are known for their soft, dry ride. They ride at relatively flat angles at all speed ranges. Moreover, like many private airplanes, their single engine design cuts fuel and maintenance costs in half while also providing a keel that gives the best protection to the propeller possible.

This 34 Wilbur design with its large cockpit is an outdoor lover’s boat. She features ample amenities inside for cruising, proven six-pack chartering capabilities for fishing near and off-shore. There is as well a VideoRay submarine ROV with video camera, Seaviewer dipping color video camera and video recording equipment with 30” flat panel monitor all available for additional USD 15,000.
