MOONDOG is a very handsome 38΄ Wilbur Flybridge Cruiser built by the finest craftspeople in the Mecca of Downeast boat building,Southwest Harbor,Maine. This boat has like other 38 Wilbur’s undergone a SIGNAFICANT (put new in front of 80% of the details to follow) refit by a passionate and knowledgeable yachtsman and is proudly offered for sale and ready to provide decades (ABYS Standards) of continued safe and pleasurable cruising.
Downeast hull designs are known for their soft, dry ride. They ride at relatively flat angles at all speed ranges. Moreover, like many private airplanes, their single engine design cuts fuel and engine maintenance costs in half while providing a keel that gives great protection to the propeller and rudder. Due to the nature of custom built boatsthey can cost more than a production boat but remember the bitterness of poor quality lasts long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten. Get aboard today and “let the boat do the talking”.

The hull topsides were painted Awlgrip flag blue in the fall of 2004 along with the white boot stripe. The bottom paint is blue antifouling, which is well adhered. In 2009, all Pilothouse side windows, port and starboard main salon windows were removed and rebedded. The aluminum window frames were refinished.
