Downeast hull designs are known for their soft, dry ride. They ride at relatively flat angles at all speed ranges. Moreover, like many private airplanes, their single engine design cuts fuel and maintenance costs in half while also providing a keel that gives the best protection to the propeller and rudder possible.

Accomodations
Vessel Walk through. The master stateroom, located forward, has an island berth with drawer storage below. The space is very bright and airy. It is finished in satin varnished cypress sheathing with white bulkheads, a subtle cream color on the interior of the trunk cabin, perforated Soundown overhead with teak battens and a teak and holly cabin sole. To starboard is a large hanging locker and to port is a built-in bureau with a set of six drawers. There is ample ventilation with six opening ports and an overhead hatch with Sky screen. The forward cabin also has reverse cycle air conditioning.

Head
The dedicated head with Sealand Vacuflush toilet with holding tank monitor, vanity and stainless steel sink is next aft and to starboard. The spacious shower with second vanity, stainless steel sink and Mattson shower mixer is opposite the head to port. Both the head and shower areas have fiberglass soles and teak doors.

Salon
The decibel meter registered at the helm during sea trials a low 72 dB-A while running at cruise speed and a scant 82 dB-A at wide open throttle (65 is the level of normal conversation) on a salon floor that is "floating" just 4" above the engine.
Proceeding aft up four steps is the pilot house/salon/galley where visibility is excellent due to the large windshield, opening side windows and sliding door to starboard. The helm is to starboard with an Edson Destroyer wheel and sliding pilot house door providing access to the starboard deck. The custom teak helm seat has ample storage space through the use of a set of drawers. A matching teak nav seat is situated to the port with additional storage underneath and a convenient portside louvered pocket compartment. The salon is equipped with teak valances for the custom window treatments. The salon and galley are finished in satin varnished teak with a teak and holly cabin sole. To port is a settee with a storage cabinet aft. The settee pulls out to create and extra long double 6'6" berth and has storage underneath. The hi-lo teak table in the salon is stunning and allows for up to 6 to sit comfortably while enjoying a meal on board. The teak joinery is outstanding and the attention to detail is just as impressive.

Galley
The galley is aft of the helm to starboard and is laid out in a U-shape with a refrigerator with custom teak door, Corian countertop, two bay sink and a three burner propane stove with oven and remote shut-off. The crockery is stored (for 6) in a custom cut placement center at easy reach. Fiddles are correctly placed as well the counter hole for the trash container that sits below out of sight.
