Downeast hull designs are known for their soft, dry ride. They ride at relatively flat angles at all speed ranges. Moreover, like many private airplanes, their single engine design cuts fuel and maintenance costs in half while also providing a keel that gives the best protection to the propeller and rudder possible.

This timeless classic Downeaster has the perfect combination of function and form resulting in the high-bred fishing tool now available for sale, no waiting on a new boat. She has had an open check book yard maintenance program. This original owner boat has been stored inside. She is a proven rugged and handsome fish raiser, very easy to maintain and fast.

This boat represents the intersection of Built To Last (tm) practically with low maintenance needs. Her hull design has a stellar reputation as a great sea boat. Strikingly good looks and better than average sea keeping. Classic and timeless lines she is ready now, inventories are shrinking call now

Once aboard via a step onto PVC slotted 23’ wide swim platform and through the 24” tuna/dog door the open 12.5 wide x 7.2 fore/aft cockpit deck will remind you of how little maintenance this boat requires. All exterior surfaces are glassed with gelcoat/non-skid, are stainless steel, PVC or window glass. Ample room here for a dozen folding chairs or for 6 people fishing. Comfort is provided via the 29” roof overhang for inclement weather and a need to be at the ready on this aft deck.

Mid-deck Freemen hatch storage
2 Roof mounted deck lights
Above deck dual propane locker

As you step up the 7.5” entrance to the salon through the 36” sliding Diamond Seaglaze door the galley is to starboard surrounded by two Diamond Seaglaze sliding windows. Across from the galley is a large L-shaped settee (can seat 5 diners) the 5’7”long by 19” wide cherry table drops to make a large single berth. You will find storage under the settee as well as the bus heater to remove the cabin dampness and the reverse air conditioning venting. Forward to starboard is the helm station with 22” wide Diamond Seaglaze sliding door for quick access to cleats and anchoring chores. The deck is non-skid gel coat with main deck cut-out for engine service and two side access cut-outs for systems access. The headliner at 6’4” centerline height has cherry battens and a brass handrail coupled with the Soundown treatment in the deck makes this space quiet while underway. This salon has a very “open feel” with the light colors, ample windows, natural light and an abundance of airflow.

This compartment is all quickly washable with the posted up shower wand and large floor drain. Some plumbing is exposed for quick trouble shooting. There is a fiddled countertop and waterproof storage cabinet and 110 electrical outlet. The Raritan hand pump head was chosen because it is a simple system to service.
