EXCEPTIONAL COMFORT AND SPACE IN A DOWNEAST LIVABOARD CRUISER
COMMENTS: "BLUEBERRY GULL" was conceived and built by Wilbur Yachts to be the ideal boat for a couple to live aboard with all the comforts of home for long periods of extended cruising. The layout makes it possible to have the occasional guest on board with their own head and shower. With her Down East hull, she has the ability to run economically and comfortably at trawler speed or cover ground in a hurry at an easy 15 knot cruise. Two steering stations makes it possible to operate the boat in total comfort no matter what the weather is. "Blueberry Gull" has been lovingly cared for by a knowledgeable yachtsman and is ready for cruising.
MAIN SALON: The Main Salon is the center of life on board with an apartment sized room made possible due to the use of the full beam of the boat. To port is a comfortable couch with under storage, and a built-in end table. The starboard side is a very cozy conversation area with a couch that converts into a double bed for the occasional guest. There is also a hi-low table that can seat 6 people for a sit-down dinner. Large windows on all sides and the door to the aft cockpit make this a very bright and airy space to spend time and entertain in. The forward end of the cabin joins to a spacious guest head, the open galley and a passageway to the pilothouse. Located at the forward starboard side of the salon is the day head that doubles as a guest head if someone is using the salon as a sleeping area. This head has a shower, wash basin and electric toilet going to the holding tank or the Electra San.

GALLEY: The galley is located at the forward end of the salon and can be closed off with a drop down curtain. The U-shaped countertop provides a large area for food prep. There is abundant storage space for cooking utensils and provisions. Appliances in the galley consist of refrigerator/freezer, microwave, 3-burner propane stove with oven and a stainless steel sink. The large propane capacity is well ventilated and its location midship makes for the minimum of motion.

PILOTHOUSE: Proceed up the stairs from the main salon into the spacious bridge area to find all of the equipment necessary to operate, navigate and control all systems of the boat. The aft end of the wheelhouse has a large comfortable watch station seat with a joy stick to operate the autopilot and storage underneath. The sole in the form of hatches lift to give easy access to the engine and associated equipment. The bridge is a central area with steps going forward to the owner's stateroom, stairs up to the roomy flybridge and doors to both port and starboard leading to the outside deck. Visibility from the bridge is excellent in all directions and natural ventilation is as good as it gets.

OWNER'S STATEROOM: The master stateroom features a queen size island bed with drawers underneath. On each side of the bunk is a step for ease of getting in and out of bed. The hull is lined with proper Ash ceilings giving the area a light elegant feel. To port, between the large hanging locker and the berth is a small desk with a flat screen TV mounted overhead to view from the berth. The stairs have storage underneath with a built-in chest of drawers. The master stateroom head is on the starboard side entered from the stateroom. The area overall is very roomy with good counter and storage space. There is a large shower stall with a seat. The Raritan electric head can be operated thru an Electra San or into a holding tank.
FLYING BRIDGE: The bridge with its hard top, windshield and side curtains is a great place to be in all weather conditions. The helm has repeaters of all navigation equipment, operation instruments and controls. The 2 Stidd chairs at the helm and large lounging areas right and left give ample space for people to relax in comfort. The bridge is the place to congregate and enjoy the sights underway or serve alfresco meals on the dropleaf table. Located on the aft part of the bridge is a large area for a dinghy, life raft and the propane grill. The radar mast is set up to be easily laid back if the air draft has to be reduced for any reason.
